I somehow got disconnected….you need to always keep an eye and feeler out for the weather and be prepared to respond quickly to any changes…I sailed on the Great Lakes, primarily Lake Ontario, and have been out in 12-15 foot waves there….which is very uncomfortable going….you don’t have the rolling waves of the ocean….there is not as much distance between the crests of the waves so you have to be careful or you will breach and/or take on a lot of water. But that is all part of it….I happened to love it….there is nothing like dancing on the deck of your boat on a moonlit night…there’s nothing like the sense of adventure as you travel from port to port (they are all different) …and you meet the most interesting people….it is not a life for everyone, but for those who love it, there is no better life.
