I feel your pain though; several years ago we took a trip to the coast and found a really nice piece of coral reef washed up on the beach. We washed it off at the hotel and took it home to use as a decoration in our bathroom. What I didn’t realize at the time was that there’s all kinds of marine life in all those crevices. When it started dying it smelled like, well…something dying. Stunk up the whole house before I realized exactly where it was coming from. Funny now, but holy smokes that was a nasty funk. :-)
